from Outside the Box

In the digital age, much of our information comes from inside the box of our computers. The view from the outside into this box is what fascinates me as I read the words of writers and see the world through the lens of a photographer's camera.

Virtually Unplugged

You may (or may not) have noticed that I have been fairly absent the last few days.

On Wednesday, I left the house around 7 in the morning for a road trip to Tennessee.  I could have made it in one day if I had been able to spend 14 hours in the car, but I starting wearing down somewhere between Vicksburg and Meridian MS.  I stopped in Birmingham for lunch and to meet a girlfriend for lunch, and then arrived late Thursday afternoon at my destination.

Since that time, I’ve kept up with my email and made a few little Tweets here and there, but have otherwise been spending as much time just being breathing in the same air as The Boy.  I visited a client in Knoxville on Friday and the rest of the time we’ve just hung out - together, with friends, with family.  And we’ve talked.

It’s been so nice to talk while in the same room instead of via the things that keep us connected otherwise.

I have to head back home tomorrow.  I’m not really wanting to, but things like work and responsibilities call.

It’s been a spectacular weekend.

I’m looking forward to the time when I can still keep in touch while being unplugged.  I know you will understand.
