from Outside the Box

In the digital age, much of our information comes from inside the box of our computers. The view from the outside into this box is what fascinates me as I read the words of writers and see the world through the lens of a photographer's camera.

7. 892.

For months I have been talking in code, closely guarding the identity of “The Boy” to the public at large.  When you care about another person, you want to shout it from the rooftops, especially when you are falling in love.   There is the balance, however, of also wanting to closely protect something new, so that it has the opportunity to blossom without any outside interference.

Seven months ago, we were introduced by a mutual friend via Twitter (@Jimformation).  Within a month, our DM’s turned into daily chats of 3 or more hours per day.  When you make a concerted effort to work on a relationship and have the constraints of needing to make it about intellect and personality instead of the band aid of physicality, you really get to know someone.  You also get to know more about yourself in the process.

If you follow me on Twitter, you know that on last Wednesday, I began a road trip.   On Thursday, for the first time after all our ours of chatting via Skype, we actually sat down in the same room together.

I will confess that I had confided in a couple of folks, such as IntheFade (aka @ABigVictory)  and Gatsbylives who the mystery man was.  (Michele - along with a couple of other girlfriends -  kindly walked me through some panicked moments as I began the 892 mile trek from Dallas, Texas to East Tennessee.)

The weekend went entirely too fast, and when Monday rolled around, I sat and delayed leaving for home just so that I could have one more moment of breathing the same air.

I’m home now in Texas and he is still in Eastern Tennessee.  The love we felt for each other across the miles of circuits has only grown stronger.  Tonight, we agreed that we could finally let the cat out of the bag and let you share in our joy as we continue to grow our relationship and work towards the goal of always being in the same place instead of our time together requiring computers and such.

So, let me introduce you to “The Boy”.  He is known to you as Zombie Tattoo (formerly TrapezeMusic - aka @WhistlingFish). I hope you will share with us our happiness as our relationship moves to the next stage.
