It’s a bit of a struggle to find my way back to a regular routine. There is work for a couple of local clients and daily chores that pass the time. My youngest is home for the week and we are doing final stuff for the start of the new school year.
There are also also a couple of trips to finalize plans for.
One business, to Washington DC, where I have meetings set up with a couple of clients, two business dinners, and a chance to meet Gatsbylives while we share snacks. (Small world that it truly is, one of her favorite spots in all of DC is also one of my favorite spots!) I may also take a tour of the new Capitol Visitor’s Center if I can find the time. I would say 90% of this trip is planned. But the big picture details are planned such as flights and hotel.
The other trip is personal. I will be heading back to Eastern Tennessee to spend time with ZT. Last weekend was pretty laid back with no plans about any of our time beyond meeting some friends for his regular Friday night gathering. This trip will be a little more planned. I am taking my youngest daughter with me. She feels like she knows ZT, since we openly talk on Skype when she is home with me (and she is more than happy to interact with us). This will give them an opportunity to sit down in person.
There will also be a BBQ with his family (of which, I am nervous about). Planning to be there will be his brother that I have already met as well as his youngest brother, his father, and all of their associated immediate family members. I would say this trip is about 85% planned. Again, because I am a bit of a planner, the big picture things have been taken care of, like flights.
I’m already obsessing over the little things (like what I’m going to wear). ;)
Restlessness, I’m guessing, will be a part of my daily routine as we continue to pass time until the next trip. It simply can’t pass quickly enough.
